So I decided to cut the girls hair shorter for the summer. Alexis did not want to cut her hair short, she wants to grow it out long. I finally convinced her that it would be cooler for summer. SO, she agreed with the condition that she could leave her bangs long (she wants to grow them out).

Alexis & Ashlyn started soccer....

The Girls had dance recitals at Lagoon, Riverton High and Riverton Arts Festival (this Saturday)

We visited my Grandma in St. George this past weekend. We played at the park and took some fun pictures.

My poor Bella's incision did not heal up right so they had to re-stitch it. Poor thing has a cone on her head and she HATES it! (I'm having a hard tim finding her body....... )

My Mom and Brother came over to help me finish my back area. When our town house was built the landscaping was done very poorly! So we needed to be creative and find a way to fill in the space underneath my fence. Our little Bella needed a place to go without being able to get out. Here are some before and afters.......

I can't believe it, my 1st born is 7 today! It's amazing how time flies. It seems like just yesterday we were having our first baby girl. Now 7 years later we have 2 baby girls, a house, great jobs, and even a new puppy. Wow time sure flies!

Seven of my favorite things about Alexis.

1- She knows exactly when you need a hug. She's the first one to give it.

2- She loves to sing and dance.

3- She is such a big helper! (sometimes to much)

4- She loves to be the center of attention!

5- She is becoming such a good reader

6- She is my shopping buddy! Boy we can shop!

7- She is my angel, my love, everything I live for! I could not ask for a better daughter!

Introducing our new addition to the family

"Bella" our new puppy. Yes, I know I broke down and did it. We bought a dog. We get to bring her home on February 5. She was born on December 14, so she needs a couple more weeks with Mom. She is so cute!! We love her already.

The girls went sledding in my Mom's backyard today with the help of Cole. There's not a ton of snow and we found the tube had a hole. They were able to make a few runs and had fun doing it.

To name a few:

Eat Healthier
Save a little more so we can get in a house
Go on more dates with my husband
Spend more time in Cedar City with my grandparents

Christmas Day

Christmas morning, the anticipated day. Alexis was excited, Ashlyn wasn't fully sure what was going on. It was a nice and relaxing day. I made breakfast and my Mom, Grandma and brother came over. Then we relaxed for the afternoon. We got just enough relaxation to make a turkey dinner and my Dad and stepmother came over. I can definitely say that I am glad it is over.

Zoo Lights

We went to the Zoo tonight and had dinner with Santa and saw the Zoo Lights. It was SO much fun. Definitely better than anything we have done before. Dinner was good, Santa and Mrs. Clause were great, zoo lights were amazing, and the kids had a GREAT time! Thank you Aunt Shelley and Mom for a wonderful evening!

So my Aunt Shelley always has the best ideas for themed parties for the kids. She is so good with the kids. I remember when Alexis broke her arm and she had her soft cast on so I didn't want to take her to daycare. So my Aunt Shelley offered to stay with her. Well they had SO much fun playing princesses, games and making lunch that Alexis wanted to stay with her everyday.

Well anyways back to this post...... My Aunt Shelley sent the girls and invitation for a Witch Party at Witch Shelley's house. It was a hoot!

They started with mummy hot dogs, vegetables with worms, & fingernail punch.

Before they could get their necklaces they had to touch the brains.

Then the girls headed downstairs and made their witches.

After that they made spiders.

And to end the evening with a scary story and cookies.

San Diego and Sea World

San Diego was my favorite part of the trip. We had a beautiful room with an amazing view! It was so breathtaking! It was so hard to leave!

We spent the day at Sea World. I love Sea World. The Shamu Show is my favorite.

We also went to the Beach. The girls has SO much fun. We only spent a few minutes there because it was late and time for dinner. But in the few minutes we were there Ashlyn managed to fall in the water. It was humorous.

We also just played and had fun! I just can't express how enjoyable it was. I am SO glad we planned this trip, and that my Mom and Cole joined us in San Diego. Next time we will spend more time on the beach.

Disneyland

Well we made it home safe and sound from Disneyland. The girls had a blast!! I have to admit it was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed it and didn't want to come home.

Well..... My Mom, Alexis and I went shopping last Sunday to get me some clothes to take on our vacation. Alexis was getting a bit bored watching me try on clothes that she asked to play with my phone. So I gave it to her hoping it would keep her company.

Well... it did. When I was looking for a picture on Monday in my phone this is what I ran into.......

There were quite a few more but they were very similar to the ones above. I think she took 3 of her flip-flops and about 5 or 6 of my Mom. Being that I was trying on clothes I did have to delete a few.

I had a yard sale at my Mom's house to try and get rid of all our crap. It was somewhat successful. I sold some crap! I'm not sure I will do a yard sale again it was kind of crappy!

After our yard sale last Saturday we had family come in town. Nate's parents and sister came to visit for a week. So we were busy spending some quality time.

So, it's been a rough week. Not for anything in particular just a lot going on. I'm not sure if maybe the stars are aligned weird because I know quite a few people who felt the same. I will be happy when my clock reads 5:00 pm on Friday.

Anywho...... enough of my sob story........ When you have a rough week I have 2 little ones floating around who can always make me smile.

Especially when one decides she is BIG enough to dress herself with anything she can get her hands on.

Or who cannot smile when you have these 3 cute faces looking back at you (This picture was not taken this week but it is still worth smiling at!)

Or when you just might have a future baseball player in the fam.......?

All in all I am thankful for my family and everything they bring me. Such joy.....even when they are constantly fighting!

So 2 years ago today we lost a very special person. Today I have been remembering all the fun times that we had.

Boating- especially when he would try to throw me off the tube by circling his own waves
Tubing- the funniest time was when he tried a new tube and he lost his shorts somewhere in the water. He had to put on some of my shorts.
Dating - One time I had a boy come to the door to pick me up for a date and he answered the door in his best Urkel impression. Wow! Embarrassed.......
Feet - He used to always bug me to give him a foot massage. I don't think I ever did it, his feet were so stinky! He used to bribe Alexis into taking his shoes and socks off after work. Yuck! She would always do it.
Fishing - he would always bait my pole for me so I could catch fish. Putting the worm on was always so gross! He would do it for me!

We surely miss him!

We finished our crazy weekend at Lagoon! We went with our friends Heidi & Mike and my Mom. The kids had SO much fun but were SO tired by the end of the evening! Nate was not able to come with us because he was sick. Thank goodness my Mom came with me to help with the girls. I would not have been able to do it alone! Each kid went a different direction! AGGHHH!

My friend Kristin was talking about this man made beach just up a little from our house. I really wanted to find it, so on our way home today we decided to try and find it. Well we found it and it looks so neat! If the girls and I are not out of town next weekend then we are going to visit the beach! How weird to visit the beach in our neighborhood.

We attended the Riverton parade tonight. Alexis said "It was the best day ever of her whole life". She got a huge bag of candy, looks like it will be hidden soon! Ashlyn got into the candy for the first 5 or 6 pieces and then all she wanted to do was sit and eat them!

We spent the day Saturday at the zoo! Boy was it busy. Finally a day with no rain and everybody decides to go to the zoo. Well we of course followed the crowd! Nate had the day off so we thought we would do a family outing so he could enjoy it with us.

Another Rainy Week!

Last Saturday Alexis had her last soccer game....or 1/4 of a soccer game. We have had nothing but rain for at least a month now. So Saturday was super cloudy and getting windy, however no rain yet. So off to soccer we went. While there it started to thunder and lightning, & sprinkle. In a matter of 3 seconds it was a torrential downpour. By the time the kids and I got to the car we were 100% soaked. So, home to dry off and change clothes.

Since it has been so crappy, the poor girls have been stuck inside. They have been wanting to swim so bad! So off to Grandma's we went to hot tub (closest thing to swimming). Ashlyn wasn't to thrilled about the hot tub, something was a little to scary for her. But Alexis was a little fish.

So, that was the weekend!

This week has been fairly quiet. Ashlyn got a small cold and has been a little bug. She's feeling a bit better today, she just has a nasty cough and is still super grumpy!

Oh, yeah and we chopped Alexis' hair off. I though it would be cooler for the summer. It took her a little bit to like it but she thinks it's cool to have short hair like Dora.

Last day of Kindergarten

Alexis' last day of Kindergarten is tomorrow. So to Thank her teacher we made her a little jar with yummy skittles. It was cute! Alexis is pretty proud of it and can't wait to give it to her tomorrow.

I can't believe she will be a big 1st grader next year!

Kids Eat Free!!

Kids Eat Free at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday evenings. We ventured out to a different location tonight where they do face paintings. Well of course the girls HAD to get their face painted. It was pretty cute, I just wish they could have enjoyed it a bit longer. Instead we had to come home for baths and bed.

I could not get Ash to sit still long enough for me to get a photo. I did the best I could wtith her wiggling!

So my goal was to try and update our blog weekly, well you can see that I have already slacked on that. It's been quite awhile and we have been busy, busy, busy. I'll try to recap the last little while. And unfortunately I do not have many pictures.

May 29-31 weekend

Busy weekend - Alexis had her final dance recital from 11-12:30, then it was off to soccer at 1:00, and the day ended at Kylee's 1st birthday party at 2:00. It was a fun but very exhausting day! We got home about 5 pm, showered and were pretty much ready for bed.

June 1-7

This week was pretty quiet. Nate's mom came in town, she came down to our house on Wednesday and hung out with Nate and the girls for they day. Alexis had Beach day on Wednesday at Kindergarten. She though that was pretty neat! (sorry no pictures)

Thursday - Alexis and I went and got pedicures. She thought that was the coolest thing! We now have cute toes!

Friday was Alexis' Kindergarten program. It was SO cute! They sang a song for every month of the year. I will post a little video as soon as I can figure out how.

Saturday after soccer we went with my Mom to Lagoon. It was the opening night for the shows. We were so excited to see Cody perform. He did such a GREAT job!! I am excited to see more of his shows.

Memorial Weekend

So we finally made it! The girls and I traveled to Cedar City today to have a visit with my Grandparents. It was a long car ride. The girls were good, they slept most of they way. I, for some reason, really struggled. My eyes were burning and there was a TON of traffic (to be expected for a holiday weekend). But we made it! It's going to be a nice weekend spent with my grandparents. The girls had a ton of energy that they have been burning off since we got here. Wait, they always have energy to burn! I cannot keep up with them. Nate has to work tomorrow so he is going to travel down with my Aunt, who is heading home to Saint George. I am so thankful that she is willing to bring him with her. We didn't want to spend our weekend without him. We can't wait for him to get here tomorrow.

Quiet Week

So it has been a pretty quiet week. Not very much going on or to report about. Alexis had soccer practice last Monday, we went out to dinner with my Mom and Grandma's Tuesday, Wednesday I actually cooked dinner and that's about it. We are trying to head to Cedar City for the long weekend. Nate has to work until Saturday night so we are trying to figure it out. I am being stubborn, I just want a vacation to start before Saturday night. So we will see what happens.

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day. My family met at Murray Park at 4 for some KFC and fun! All the kids had a great time. We had a ton of games and activities to do. The kids rode their scooters and played on the slides. They love being outdoors!

Busy Busy Saturday

Saturday was a busy day for us. We started the day at Lagoon by 8 am, soccer at 2, help prepare for Cole's birthday party by 6 at my Mom's. We were running all day. The kids were SO exhausted by the end of the day!

It was so much fun to see Alexis dance at Lagoon. She was the little leader of the pack. All the other kids watched her for the next steps. It was fun. After Alexis danced we took the kids on a few rides. They were SO tired that we only made it on 4 or 5 rides. Good thing we have a season pass this year!

Soccer 2009

Alexis started soccer about 2 weeks ago. I wasn't sure how it would go since the last time she was more concerned with the grass, the flowers, planes flying overhead. But she seems to like it much better. She actually tries to kick the ball. She is having fun! Ashlyn wants to play so bad with her. We will have to start her next fall when she is 3.

My little Ashlyn, or shall I say my little Monster. She surely keeps us on our toes. She has no fear of anything. Alexis is our little girly girl and I'm pretty sure Ash will be our tomboy.

Tonight my Mom came over and watched the girls while Nate and I enjoyed dinner and a Movie (Thanks MOM!). Well Ash took my Mom's dog out to potty and just stood in the rain with her. Alexis would never want to get her hair wet. Such a joy my 2 kids are!!!
